"Red Eye" is the play for October at Essen Haus

Here's the synopsis for the play, "The Red Eye."
Playwright by: Craig Furniss

Similar to the slap-stick humor of the movie “Airplane”, “The Red-Eye” is a comical spin on today’s air-travel. Join the passengers on “THRIFTY AIRLINES” for a 3 ½ hour flight in a confined space with total strangers, a free Boarding Pass if you will, that includes in-flight shenanigans on a “Red-Eye” night flight from Chicago O’Hare to Los Angeles. Enjoy your flight!

*** CONTAINS SOME ADULT HUMOR ***

Elevator Pitch by Craig Furniss

This August the Essen Haus presents "Elevator Pitch" written by Craig Furniss. Sundays, August 7th & 21st make your reservations for 5:30 or 7:30. Call (608) 255-4674.
o    An elevator operator's mindless banter within the confined quarters of vertical transport with some of the city's most colorful residents. A day of ups and downs and where secrecy comes with a price!

o    SYNOPSIS: "Elevator Pitch" goes beyond the annoyance of people entering an elevator before people already in it have not left yet. Although knowing the 5 day forecast or the score of the Yankee game is beneficial as an elevator operator Zach Armstrong believes that the actions by the tenants are stronger than their words, and what happens in the elevator, stays in the elevator. Of course discretion does have its price. Residents’ true personalities surface in the reflection of the mirror in the short time span that it takes for an elevator ride. If a cunning tenant wants to get from the ground floor to view the Manhattan skyline they are going to have to go through Zach Armstrong! Refraining from getting too personal with the residents is appropriate operator etiquette, but Zach’s comical sense of humor and keeping "Mum’s the word", he gets the residents to dig deeper into their pockets.

Dinner Theater @ Essen Haus in Madison, Wisconsin

We have started a dinner theater! The only dinner theater in Madison. A recent graduate of MATC approched us about the possibility. John Dunn has started his own small scale production company, JD Productions. He has a network of student actors, directors & writers from UW Madison & MATC who have little opportunity to get real stage experience in Madison.

For now the shows are short comedies, about 45 minutes. There are no tickets but reservations are recomended. Every first & third Sunday of the month we will have 2 show times, 6:00 & 8:00. Make your reservations for 5:30 & 7:30. Call (608) 255-4674 for reservations.

All you need to do come in be seated, order dinner from the regular dinner menu (authentic German Cuisine), eat, drink & enjoy the show! Right in downtown Madison at 514 E. Wilson Street. Easy breezy access from John Nolen Drive or East Washington Avenue with free parking.

Check it out! We are bringing back the historic Wilson Street East dinner theater concept. I hope you are as excited about it as we are!
